Somers By The Beach overlooks the Murray River and offers a relaxing and quiet atmosphere for families and friends to go camping, swim at the beach or in our heated pool, go kayaking, paddle boarding, have camp fires, etc. Come enjoy our camping experience!
Somers By the Beach Campground, a beautiful family owned campground overlooking Murray River. Enjoy a relaxing stay in one of our large spacious campsites. Our campsites are shaded, grassy or treed sites with a water view offering spectacular sunsets.
We are located on the Points East Coastal Drive next to Kings Castle Provincial Park.
At Kings Castle you and your children can spend a fun filled day enjoying their unique play equipment and storybook statues. If you enjoy sitting around a campfire and watching the sunset then Somers Campground is just the place you should be.
Take a stroll along the beach, dig clams or just sit at the end of the dock enjoying the quiet of Murray River. The children will love the Pirate Ship, Lobster Trap and new Lighthouse playgrounds as well as other weekly activities. Don’t miss out on our complimentary “Mussel Bake” every Saturday night during July and August for the campers – you’ll love it! It is a great way to meet your fellow campers and learn more about our unique island from the local guests. Take a swim in our heated pool or in the river off the dock and then enjoy a treat from Beach Treats Camp Store where we have lots of snacks and campground necessities.

WOW! what a beautiful place to stay!
Friendly folks; spacious, private camp sites; kid friendly environment inclusion lobster trap and pirate ship play ground. For the adults there are beach hammocks and chairs ..and kayaks (free to campers!) and paddle boards to rent. There’s a little store full of sweet treats, ice and wood (delivered to your campsite!). There’s a pool, small bunker-like cabins and laundry facilities. To top it off, there is a provincial park next door – just a poke through the path – and there is another playground and themed trails of your favourite (or not so fav) fairy tales. All of this is located on manicured sites. Somers by the Beach is clean, maintained and (hopefully) the pride of the Somers family! We would recommend to all.

My husband and I recently stayed for 4 nights on site 45 which is huge! Where there isn’t enough trees for privacy, they have put up wooden fences. The whole place is clean and quiet. The bathrooms are spotless and the free showers had great HOT water. The beach has a few hammocks and loungers to spend your time relaxing. There is also a heated pool, small store, free kayak rentals and lots of playground areas for the kids. We were very impressed with their COVID protocols and have already booked our stay for next summer!

We really like this campground. It’s hard to find a spot so we book a year ahead and were also on a cancellation list that we lucked out on last year and again this year. We are seniors but there are people of all ages here. Visitors and staff all following Covid 19 guidelines. The campsites are terrific. Staff are very friendly. (Family run business) All sites are very clean including washrooms if you tenting or don’t have a washroom in your RV. We’re here this week because of a cancellation and will be back im August through a booking last year. We find this park very quiet and relaxing and there are lots of playground equipment for children and a pool for children and adults 10/10
